Folk Groups Workshop Poster – Sept 2022

We all recognise that the Covid 19 pandemic has impacted on many aspects of our everyday lives.  Sadly, our church families suffered because for a long time, we could not gather together as a people of God.  Thankfully, with the easing of restrictions, we can once again attend the celebration of the Mass.

Music enriches the Holy Mass and uplifts the congregation.  The folk groups and choirs in all our parishes are a very important part of our faith communities.  Unfortunately, all the parishes in the Ards and North Down area are experiencing difficulty in reviving their music ministry in the post-covid era.

We are hoping to address this by holding a re-connecting workshop where all our local parishes can come together and enjoy a day filled with praise, music, singing and fun!

This notice is a no obligation invitation to come long.  There is no limit in terms of age or musical ability.  All you really need is a love of music and lots of enthusiasm.

We wish to encourage former members of our folk groups and choirs to come back and also to invite potential new members to come along and try it out with no pressure to sign up.

It is important that word about this event is spread, as we wish to reach out to those who are not currently attending regular Mass, and also those who wish to be involved but have doubts or questions.  By passing the details of the event to family and friends, we can, in a small way, be missionaries within our own communities.
