DC Diaconate Leaflet_ – September 2018
We are delighted that we have our very own aspiring Deacon in Bangor. On Sunday 14th October 2018, James McAllister will be ordained in our Pastoral Community as a Permanent Deacon in St Peter’s Cathedral, Belfast by Bishop Noel Treanor. His Mass of Thanksgiving will on Monday 15th October in St Comgall’s Church, Brunswick Rd at 7.30pm. All parishioners are welcome to come and celebrate this event.
We are looking forward to celebrating with him this historical occasion in his home town of Bangor and are very proud of all his achievements. We ask for the protection and guidance of the Holy Spirit for him as he moves forward in his ministry together with us all as a Pastoral Community and place him in the arms of Our Lady as Mother of the Church. ‘As Bishop of Down and Connor, I welcome the introduction of the Permanent Diaconate into our Diocese. I salute those who will be ordained on Sunday 14th October. On behalf of the faithful, clergy and religious of the Diocese, I thank all who have contributed to their formation over the past four years. To these men, to their wives and to their families I express heartfelt gratitude and appreciation. I assure them of my prayers and support.
