On Monday 23rd November, we celebrated the feast day of St. Columbanus. This year marks the 1400th anniversary of the Saint who travelled from Leinster, through Bangor, and onto mainland Europe.
Bishop Nulty and Monsignor Byrne from the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin joined us for the Mass, which was celebrated by Bishop Farquhar. They were joined by Parish Priest of Bangor Fr. Joseph Gunn and members of the clergy from all across the Diocese.
A reception was held in the parish Centre afterwards, with fantastic refreshments provided by the local parishioners.
