A Bell offered by the Knights of Malta to the Organisation Green Butterflies in honour of St Columbanus was blessed at the ceremony in Bobbio Cathedral on Sunday 20 July. Cardinal Bagnosco blessed the bell in the presence of Don Gianni Ambrogio, Bishop of Piacenza-Bobbio. The Bell Travelled to Genoa where it was dismantled into 3 parts so that it could travel by land, air and sea to Bangor. It arrived Safely in time for the celebrations of the 1400th Anniversary of the death of St Columbanus.

The bell arrived in Bangor and was presented by the green butterflies to Fr Joseph Gunn, Parish Priest of Bangor on 24th April 2015.
The bell can now be seen on display in the refurbished sanctuary of St Comgalls Church.
